The Truth About Back Pain
by Tyler Shamaly
Have you ever experienced agonizing back-pain or slight discomfort in your lower back?
Have you ever wondered what would be causing this issues? Most people don’t, they end up either letting the pain take its toll or relieve it with short-term solutions like Ibuprofen or Advil.
What most people don’t know is that low-back pain and other issues like it are commonly due to tight, or overactive musculature. All that means is that your lower back is working hard for something in your body that is not working enough or at all!
In specific to the lower back, the hips tend to be the main cause of this pain. For instance, if the hips are not mobile enough, the lumbar (low-back) will move to accommodate the lack of motion in the hips, therefore moving the lumbar more than it should have if the hips were otherwise mobile.
Another common issue is when the gluteal muscles and abdominal muscles are not strong enough, therefore putting the remainder strain on the low-back and hip flexors.
